Sanded with 800 grit. Acid etching was done for the development of the drawing.

Mokume-gane, or "wood-eye metal," is a labor intensive an old world Japanese metal smithing technique.
It involves layering different colored metals together then using heat and pressure to cause the metals to fuse together.
Once fused the piece is carved into a topography and flattened to create the beautiful patterns.

Bronze and Copper are in these blanks. Still, not everyone knows that you have to use temperature, acid or sulfuric ointment to bring out the different colors of the metal when finishing Mokume Gane.
